Time to ship Pujols?

Postby plamb23 » Sat Jan 19, 2013 12:47 pm

12 team, 5x5 roto, keep 15 (won league last year)

I have these as keeps:
McCann
Pujols
Kinsler
Zimmerman
Freeman
Rutledge
Trout
Cutch
Willingham
Ellsbury

Minors (not counted against): Profar

Price
Wainwright
Scherzer

Soriano/JJohnson/Romo

Trying to finalize my team going into draft and have some low level deals so last two keeper spots are not closers

Have been thinking of trading Pujols for some time especially while he is top 10 material.

Do you guys think Rizzo and Cain is enough for him?
Or try one of these 3 options:
JUp plus arm; Machado/Votto; or Longo/CC

Thanks for your help again

I like the Machado/Votto trade. I like Votto as much or better than Pujols at this stage of his career

I have actually pushed this theory of trading pujols now. I think his name still has a premium attached to it, even if his numbers actually have been in decline for the last few years.

That said. I don't think I do the Rizzo Cain deal.

As far as your proposals:

I absolutely do the Votto/Machado deal.
JUpton and an upper tier arm (Greinke/Weaver) I definitely do it.
Longoria/CC - Its a little closer. I would prefer to have the other two before I would consider taking this trade.

I like the Votto/Machado deal for you by a lot. As you realize, Pujols' best days are likely behind him while Votto has several solid years in his future.

Definitely do the Machado/Votto deal for Pujols.
You don't need Longoria (with Zimm on board and Machado coming in).
CC is getting up there in years.
Offer up Wainwright + a closer for the best SS you can get. I'd go for Andrus.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!

I also like the Machado/Votto for Pujols. The others I wouldn't do actually. Albert is still a top 5 guy in my opinion and will get you 300, 35, 110 this year.

please help

Votto is the only good deal depending on what that arm is in the deal of JUp. Votto is pretty comparable to Pujols and you get a future stud in Machado.

Agree with above.. Votto deal looks best. JUp would be a second IFF the plus arm is indeed a plus arm.

Definitely take Votto and Machado -- I value Votto over Pujols at this point as well.

Ditto. I get the feeling though that this is something that you are going to propose to the Votto owner though. Not something that is currently on the table. I can't see him accepting unless he has a boner on for Albert.
