Should you ever keep a pitcher???

Three keepers in a 10-team league, I'm keeping hitters every year. Plenty of pitching to be had in the draft.

Oh, and I would keep Pujols, Cargo and Stanton.

Please help me?

In addition to the other reasons, you have many more hitting categories than pitching, which to me indicates hitting over pitching.

In a shallow league I'm taking the three 1st rounders:

Verlander
Pujols
CarGo

This. Who cares about position, it is a ten team league. You keep the best players regardless of where they play. Like I said in another post, I would think about keeping Stanton over Pujols though. Pujols is in decline and Stanton on the way up. Maybe keep Pujols and then deal him after the draft though.

I would keep Verlander, Pujols and Cargo. One thing to ask, how long can you keep a guy for? If it is no contracts for anyone, I would then keep Stanton, because you will not get a chance at him again for 10 years.

Agree with this. 10 team league, 3 keepers, no one should be keeping pitchers.

Unless there is some weight to winning pitching categories, it makes zero sense to keep pitchers with the scoring categories you have.

I'd keep the best 3 hitters on your roster and let the rookies make the mistake of gobbling up all that fancy pitching early.

Maybe just to discuss the league's future with the other owners and see if they might want to balance things up a bit. Looks like the league is still open to changes as you are expanding to 12T. Might be a good time to address the scoring imbalance too.

Part of me still thinks I would go with Verlander. With such a vast difference in hitting, I think it is going to be harder to win the hitting side of things but having Verlander pitch for you will help lock down 3 cats. Very few pitchers are going to be able to do that for you. Maybe I am over thinking it but I think I still go with Verlander here.
