Jon Lester Trade Question

I am in a 14 team points league that is in dynasty format with a big minor league system. This upcoming year will be the sixth season of the league. I have been offered an interesting Jon Lester trade:

I GET: A.J. Griffin OAK-SP, Nick Franklin SS/2B SEA
I GIVE: Lester, Low round minor league draft pick.

Should I pull the trigger?

I have some serious questions about Lester, but you should still be able to get more than that. Don't underestimate job security; Lester is actually an MLB starter right now, if a flawed and inconsistent one. Griffin and Franklin have a lot to prove.

I like the idea of trading Lester, but just not this trade. I am not high on Lester at all, but in a 14 team league you should be able to find someone who is willing to give up more for Lester.

This is selling way too low on Lester. Griffin had a nice little 15-start debut in the majors and great minor-league numbers, but I think you'd have to be sold on him as having ace potential to trade Lester for him. Until he strikes out more guys at the major-league level, I'd be hesitant to project him as an ace.

I think Lester is due for a big bounce back year and am trying to add him on all my teams. I think he's easily one of your better arms and agree you should be able to get more in return. Not a huge fan of Mariner MI prospects

I agree, I hate Lester and see very little value in him. That being said,having a slot in a rotation aas value and his name recognition will draw a lot of attention if he starts out half way decent. If he does, TRADE him!
