I think I would pass. You gain a couple rounds and one year going from Jones to Cespedes but I think Jones is tier or two above Cespedes right now. I also like Altuve at his price. I am not sold on Middlebrooks at least for the short term. He might get things figured out but over the next two seasons, I think he will be over-valued. I really want Hamilton to be successful but I just don't know if it will happen. I think he is going to have some problems getting on base which will limit his SB value.
I just don't think I see a big enough gain for you to do this deal. Maybe get someone better than Cespedes and I would probably be ok with it.

I actually took Cespedes over Adam Jones in our current mock draft. Adam Jones showed some power last season, but it kind of fell back down to career norms after the ASB whereas Yoenis continued to get strong and show improvement as the season went on. Both guys are 30/20 threats and both should hit for average and drive in runs. They are very close in value, IMO.
This is tough because you don't need Middlebrooks. I don't see where he would crack your lineup. And as mentioned above, I am not sure just how valuable Hamilton will actually be. I think that he could be a Michael Bourn type, but it could be a rough transition for him.
In terms of overall value I think that you win this. But it just doesn't make sense for you right now w/o being able to flip one of Lawrie, Middlebrooks or Headley. You would also have a hole at 2B that may not be that easy to fill.
I would stand pat unless the other owner gives you back something nice at 2B or 1B in replacement for Middlebrooks.

I'd take that, but I like Cespedes more than most. Hamilton is a stealing machine in the minors. Middlebrooks has good upside as well. Please help with mine.
