Obviously second base is my biggest need.
I am being asked about Luebke, but would like some input on who to ask for.
His team:
C- Matt Wieters, Derek Norris 1B- Brandon Belt, Ike Davis 2B- Robinson Cano 3B- Pablo Sandoval SS- Asdrubal Cabrera, Ian Desmond LF- Coco Crisp CF- Jacoby Ellsbury, Leonys Martin RF- Jason Heyward, Michael Morse
SP- Verlander, Dickey, Bumgarner, Sale, Kennedy, Furbush, Aceves RP- Pestano, Romo, Rodriguez, Morales, Strop, Boggs, Frieri, Addison Reed, Tim Collins, Louis Coleman
Prospects-
Eddie Rosario(2B) Xander Bogaerts(SS) Rougned Odor(SS) Brandon Nimmo(OF) Christian Yelich(OF) Bubba Starling (OF) Dylan Bundy (SP) Shelby Miller(SP) Robert Stephenson (SP) Luis Heredia(SP) Brett Jackson(OF) Kyle Crick (SP) Julio Teheran Taylor Guerrieri Bryce Bentz Brian Goodwin Matt Davidson Jesse Biddle Oscar Taveras (OF) Martin Perez (SP) Austin Hedges (C) Javier Baez (SS) Matt Barnes (SP) Miguel Sano (3B) Danny Hultzen (SP)
I know I can't land Cano, so looking for prospects maybe? Rosario could be a second base backup for the future, am I asking for too little? Too much? Just right? I suck at prospects and not sure if trading Luebke for relievers is a good idea.
I think that you're aiming too low, but you're probably not going to get his true worth while he's on the shelf. I'd be targeting one of his upper tier prospects (see Baez, Yelich, etc).
I like Luebke alot, but I don't see anyway you are going to do well trading him right now, coming off that type of injury.
However, pitching is your strength, and If you believe in Luebke coming back strong, I would attempt to trade one of your other stud arms like Greinke, who you could trade at full value and will bring you back a nice haul.
In a 16 team league your pitching is incredibly strong, especially for a h2h league. I would definitely try to do something.
Luebke's trade value right now is pretty low. No point on selling low with him. I did like the suggestion of trading Greinke. He really didn't look great when he came over to the AL. You might be able to get good value for him right now.
90% of my posts are from complaining about my team
Make him offer you something. He is wanting him so see where he values Luebke. If you offer him up, you might be selling him low to a guy that values him more than you think he does.
Personally I would think about doing it for Wieters or Morse. Or I figure out a package to get Cano (not likely) or Bumgarner or Heyward. While those might be reaching for the stars, you would be improving your team and the worst he could do is say no.
I like Luebke but more for next year then this year. It seems to take most guys a full year before they get back to what they were doing. So trading him should be about what you are trying to do. Win now? Then trade him for something above. Rebuilding? Wait it out as his value should only get better.

I agree with the above. Let him give you the offer first, see where he values the player, and then react accordingly. I do think it will be tough to get his true value while he's still out though.
