Dynasty trade (WHIR)

Postby rupertoooo » Sun Jan 06, 2013 11:03 am

12 team H2H 6x6 (OPS, L) Dynasty League with no contracts. Been offered the following,

I get Hanley, 1st pick (plan to take Zunino) and the 13th pick in rookie draft

for

Profar, Napoli, A Cabrera and the 34th pick in rookie draft.

I would appreciate some consenting opinions with a reason behind your opinion. I would be giving up alot and have reservations about making the deal especially considering my offense is stacked. Not sure what to make of Hanley from here on out and it seems most either want him do to supposed good value this year or are fed up with his antics and performance. However with that offense he could be in for a very nice year.

Current roster:

M. Montero
Fielder
Kinsler
Cabrera
Lawrie
Cargo
Kemp
Upton
McCutchen

Beltran
Napoli
Mike Young
Mark Reynolds

What is your current pick in the rookie draft? Who do you project for that pick?

I would hate to see you give up Profar AND Cabrera then see Ramirez lose SS eligibility. I know that the Dodgers have said that they want him to play SS, but Luis Cruz hasn't exactly cemented himself as an every day player either. I don't feel that we can count Dee Gordon out just yet.

All that said, unless you have yet another solid SS option, I would likely decline or request more in this trade.

I don't think the trade is terrible from a strict value point, but like Element said, I would not want to leave that huge hole at SS in case Han-Ram looses that eligibility. (I see them at least giving Gordon a chance in spring training to compete)

I'd try to rework it a little.

I think you are giving up too much. I am not sold on Hanley and Profar is a future stud at the position. I also think Cabrera is a fine option at SS and Hanley is far from being the guy he used to be.
