12 team 5x5 Standard Roto League, 1500 IP limit
Our roster positions are C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, IF, 4 OF, Util, 3 SP, 3 RP, 3 P, 7 Bench, 2 DL
Keep any 10 players indefinitely...these 10 keepers are your picks for rounds 1 through 10...you don't have to keep 10 i.e. keep 9 and get a draft pick in round 10, etc...

I have these definite keepers:

1) Adrian Gonzalez (LAD - 1B,OF)
2) Adrian Beltre (Tex - 3B)
3) Troy Tulowitzki (Col - SS)
3) Mike Trout (LAA - OF)
4) Jose Bautista (Tor - OF)
6) Stephen Strasburg (Was - SP)
7) Justin Verlander (Det - SP)

I can't decide for the last 3. I like all the options below....Who should be my last 3 keepers?

Carlos Santana (Cle - C,1B)
Chase Headley (SD - 3B)
Desmond Jennings (TB - OF)
Nelson Cruz (Tex - OF)
Ike Davis (NYM - 1B)
Jurickson Profar (Tex - SS)
R.A. Dickey (Tor - SP)
Max Scherzer (Det - SP)

I would keep:
Carlos Santana (Cle - C,1B)
Chase Headley (SD - 3B)
Desmond Jennings (TB - OF)

Trade Headley for a decent 2b and your are set.

I think Jennings is the one sure thing you have to keep, after that it gets tricky. In my opinion, the only other players I would consider for the final 2 keepers are Santana, Profar and Dickey.

You've got a good enough solid core of players that I think you should keep Profar, even if he doesn't start at the beginning of the season, at some point he will and his value will still be pretty high even as he sits. Your other keepers should do fine for the mean time so having Profar on your bench won't hurt you much.

Now final keeper is between Santana and Dickey, I'm just thinking that right now, Dickey has the most value and if it were me I would likely keep him and try to trade him after the draft. I mean, 12 team league, likely only around half of them will keep catchers, I think you'll be able to draft a catcher, so I'll go with the guy who I feel will be able to help me more in a trade, and that's Dickey.

Quick note about Chase Headley, every year there's that one guy I avoid in drafts (usually it's some Yankee player haha), this coming season it's going to be Headley. I'm just not buying it.

I would do my best to move Dickey & Headley. They are basically extras. If you can do a 2 for 1 then you could hang on to Santana. Without the Rangers making some room (trade of Andrus) I don't see Profar getting enough at bats to keep him over guys that will be productive all season.

i like santana, headley, and jennings. i think that if you have a 4th in mind you could probably get him in the 11th with your first pick most likely -dickey but many say a big regress is coming in the al. people in your league would most likely jump all over those 3 due to age/potential, last season, age/potential.

but like some others said if you could make a trade to get another elite player that could make your decision a lot easier.
