Wow that is perfect, we even have a 14 team league! Thanks for sharing.
Would be great if Yahoo had something like this for their automated schedules. At least make sure you play divisional rivals twice each. But we'll manually use your schedulemaker.
Now we just need that 2 week final. I'm surprise Yahoo doesn't have the option, I would think a lot of leagues like to use this format.
Thanks again for the schedulemaker. Yahoo's auto scheduler was incapable of producing anything close to a balanced schedule for a 14 team league with 2 divisions. I was able to manually enter in each weekly matchup to create something fair.
This sounds like there is more to the story. 14 teams, 2 divisions is not a crazy configuration, and it has been doing this for years. It also isn't like there is a bug in the code generating the schedules, because the schedules are largely hand crafted for these cases. I imagine the Y! folks would be interested in what was wrong with your schedule. Like the previous case in this thread, is it possible that you visited the custom schedule tool at some point beforehand? Maybe before the league was really complete and finalized? Or did something weird like having 8 teams in one division and 6 in another?
Nothing strange that I know of. I locked the teams, 7 in each division, then went to the custom schedule tab. You would expect in a 21 week schedule to play each team in your division twice and every team out of division at least once and a few twice. However, the schedule had several cases where only one inter-divisional match occurred and where some teams out of division did not play even once. I clicked to regenerate the schedule several times and got similar results. We had the same problem last year and it generated a fair amount of angst as the schedule was not balanced. I then went about manually entering each week's matchups to create a balanced schedule. Our league is 30151 if you want to take a look.
