4th year dynasty with relegation and promotion

Postby chadtvan » Sat Dec 08, 2012 11:51 am

Rally Cap Fantasy Baseball Leagues is looking for a few replacement owners for 2013. Rally Cap is a pay league $20-$50, dynasty, H2H, salary cap with relegation and promotion played on fantrax. E-mail me at rallycap at fanbaseball dot com.

Full details:
Rally Cap Fantasy Baseball Leagues

Rally Cap Fantasy Baseball Leagues was founded in January 2010. Rally Cap is a money (fees vary by league), dynasty (keep entire roster year to year), Head-to-Head each category (standard 5x5), salary cap, relegation and promotion fantasy baseball league played on fantrax.com.

Intention/Purpose
This league is meant to be very competitive and fun. Competitiveness will be ensured by using a salary cap to ensure teams have similar valued rosters and Leagues divided by team quality through relegation and promotion. Also, league fees ensure that owners take there teams seriously and that there is something to gain or lose.
That being said, the main purpose of this league is for everyone to have fun, it should not be about winning money.

Teams
Rally Cap currently consists of 4 leagues (or divisions) of 8 teams each for a total of 32 teams

Team Names
Please keep team names family friendly: no cuss words or sexual connotations
Preferred if you'd keep same team name year after year – it's easier to keep track of teams that way opposed to changing your team name every year.

Leagues
Rally Cap Fantasy Baseball Leagues consist of a 'Major League', 'AAA League', 'AA League', and an 'A League'.

Rosters
Each teams roster may consist of up to 25 active players with 5 additional slots for players on the Disabled List. Rosters are used from all Major League Baseball teams. Rally Cap uses a limited duplicate player option in which each player in the league may be on a maximum of two teams. (example...Albert Pujols may play on a maximum of two teams in the league)
Rosters will be kept year-after-year.
***Fantrax's 'limit duplicate player' option is in 'beta mode' right now and not all options are available. Trading will be done manually until they have that option included in our league. Free Agent Aquisition Budgets (FAAB) are also normally a part of the league, however FAAB will be put on hold until fantrax has it implemented into our league.

Spring Draft
Starting in 2013 there will be a one-round draft beginning with last place team of A League ending with first place team of the Major League. Draft is planned to be held in early March.

Transactions
Teams may trade with each other throughout the entire season. There will be no trading deadline. Trades will be pending for at least two complete days to give owners a chance to veto. It will take 8 (eight) veto votes to veto a trade.
Teams may drop players and add free agents as they wish so long as rosters remain legal

Salary Cap
A salary cap was implemented into the league in 2012. 2013 salary cap amounts are yet to be determined. Here are the 2012 amounts:
*Major League
2012 - $108 million
*AAA League
2012 - $107
*AA League
2012 - $102
*A League
2012 - $99
salary cap amounts may change in future years.

Starting Lineups
Starting lineups consist of:
1 C
1 1B
1 2B
1 SS
1 3B
3 OF
1 DH (batter of any position)
5 SP
2 RP

Matchups
Each team will play another team within their own league each week for a full week with matchups typically beginning on Mondays and ending on Sundays. The team with the best tally in each category against their weekly opponent at the end of the week gets a win for that category while the opposing team gets a loss. If the tally is a tie then each team gets a tie for that category.

Relegation and Promotion
Major League - 7th and 8th place will be relegated to the AAA League the following year. The 6th place team will have a playoff matchup with the 3rd place team from the AAA League to determine if it is relegated or stays in the Major League.

Questions:

1) can you tell us about the available teams? Which league are they in?

2) When does the relegation/promotion occur? End of season?

3) what is the one-round draft for? Why just one round?

1. As of now I have one team available in 'AAA' and three teams available in 'A'. The 'AAA' team was the 16-team 'Expansion League' champion in 2011, but was demoted from the 'Majors' in 2012 to 'AAA' in 2013 after new ownership. Two of the 'A' teams had inactive owners last year.

2. Demotion/Promotion occurs after the season ends.

3. This will be the first year of the 1-round draft. The purpose is to help teams at the bottom improve by getting first picks in the spring. Usually there are a lot of new pickups in the spring and helps make things a lot less 'messy' when free agent signings begin through 'FAAB' or through 'normal' waivers or free agency pickups at the beginning of the season.
Just one round because that will already include 32 players and since this is a dynasty league everyones team is already full with 25 players anyway and likely the 33rd best player available is not as good as the worst player already on your 25-man roster.

It certainly does still exist. At the moment there are no openings, but there is a possibility that a spot could open up. email me at rallycap@hotmail.com so I can send you full details and put you on a waiting list if a spot becomes available. Thanks!
