What is the best website to use to gather/hold dues and then pay out winners at the end of the season? I'm looking for something easy, secure, and with minimal fees

I started a $25 dollar league in April 2012. It was a 16 team league and I only knew three of the guys. I just told them that I was using PayPal to collect the money and I would hold it. There were a couple that didn't feel that was secure so they did not join the league. It was not really a problem to find 16 guys that did not think you were ripping them off. This year should not be a problem at all since there is history on the league. If you are playing for a small amount, hold it yourself.

I commish a 10 team $100 league. Ask for payment via PayPal or check and then deposit into my bank and then withdrawal the cash and leave it in an envelope then. End of season I deposit the $ back into my bank and mail out checks.

I trust myself and know I'm not off to Atlantic City or Vegas with it after I get it. I think my league trusts me, also helps I know all the managers.

Question is do you trust yourself? Does your league trust you? Do you know the people in your league?

I am in two pay leagues. One of them is a 12 teams league with annual dues about $25-$30 per year. The other one is an 18 team league with annual dues about $15 per year. Neither league has a cash payout. The dues cover the cost of the league (CBS Sportsline in both cases) and plaques for the top 4 finishers.

The 12 team league is a live auction league. The money is due the day of the auction at the beginning of the auction.

The 18 team league is an online/email draft league. Checks need to be sent to the commissioner before the draft starts. Some guys are sometimes late, but it always gets collected eventually.

In both cases, the commissioner pays for the league, holds the rest of the money for the remainder of the season, and takes care of acquiring the plaques and distributing them at season's end.

A lot of the same guys are in both of these leagues. Some have been playing together for 10 years or more. There are no trust issues, and there have never been any problems that I am aware of.

this guy is correct, 3% if you choose the e-check/debit/credit card route ...or if you setup just e - check its free, owners deposit the fees and at the end of the season commish goes in and pays people.

Takes the headaches of collecting fees out of the picture. Plus its easy to collect your winnings.

Leaguesafe is great. Commish can either distribute funds or a 51% vote among league members decides where the $$ goes.

I won't play in a money league with strangers unless it uses leaguesafe. My fantasy football winnings will stay in my account and be used for baseball season.
