he has pretty good on base skills which make up for his low BA in real life but not in fantasy.

How many serious leagues these days (that members of this forum would play in for example) do NOT incorporate OBP in some form?

That said, his OBP skills have really deteriorated over the past few seasons as his power has developed, and hes not really that good at getting on base anymore.

i would say a very large majority of leagues (including serious ones) are still a standard 5x5 format.

up until last year he was still walking at a high rate and he may have been pressing in a contract year. i expect his BB% will bounce back to around his career level which is very good. his OBP still won't be great because of his average, but it's very good in relation to his average.

Whew I think the Braves overpaid.... but I guess that's the trend, since my Red Sox overpaid too. I just see BJ as the next Carl Crawford.
