First off let me say this is out of my expertise. When you start getting into deep leagues with different rules it gets hard to rank players. So it is pretty hard for me to judge what is a good salary or what is one that might stick around on the draft board longer than you would normally think.

So saying that my first thought is to grab another SP as thats has the most talent and a decent drop off after the next 4-5 guys. Hosmer is tempting because it seems like a cheap contract and 5 years. Both are great for a young guy that could be a top 20 player. Similar thing with Freese. The best talent still available seems to be McCann but I am not sure I would want to grab a catcher just yet unless this is a 2 catcher league.

There is not a lot of power available. It's why i like Cruz a lot here.
Hosmer is the best deal imo.
SP has lots of options and value.

I agree with Hootie on all points except for Cruz. That's too pricey & the contract is too long for an aging OF'er that can't stay healthy. Hosmer & Desmond are your best options. I like Peavy a lot too at that contact. Keep on top of Rubby de la Rosa as the draft carries on. That could be a HUGE steal.

Is pitching somehow devalued in your league? It seems there is a lot of goo dpitching and you already have three studs. Maybe its just the randomness of the 8 teams leaving.

Either way, heres what jumped out at me.

Totally understandable. Max salary is $20M per season, with a seven year max allowed. Minimum salary is 600k. Not sure if that helps at all.

I was leaning towards another SP as well. Hosmer is gone now (Just updated list in original post). No, it is just a one catcher league, and nobody else has drafted one yet.

My biggest question seems to be which SP. I like Brandon Morrow a lot. He is cheap and good contract, but coming off an injury is always a concern, plus I think he will be available in a few rounds.

I think I am leaning between Halladay and Lincecum. My next three picks are 10 away, 12 away, then 25 away. If neither of them are available (and I am hesitant on both as it is) I would likely take Morrow. After that, I think I would go after Nelson Cruz, or maybe I should solidify my rotation? Thoughts anybody? Thanks!

I would go with Lincecum before I would touch Halladay at FOUR years on that salary. Maybe he bounces back and pays his owner off, but I wouldn't risk that. Lincecum's salary is more reasonable & he's younger.

Hopefully Desmond will be there for you after Lincecum. I still love Peavy on a cheap 2 yr deal too.

I agree with this. I think I would take the risk with Lincecum getting himself back together than Halladay staying good for four years.

Nice start for sure. I will go against the grain a bit and pass on another pitcher, especially the high-priced question marks. I'd pick on offense and I think that leads you to Desmond. Speed/power at a premium position and controllable at a decent price.

Unfortunately Desmond just got picked. I have updated my list accordingly. Also, I had accidently left off that I had Brett Lawrie at 3B as well.

So, if I go with pitching, is Lincecum the consensus pick here? Or Should I go with Morrow or Peavy?

Here is what the other teams drafting in this mini draft (8 of the 16 teams) have drafted so far.

1.Miggy (3B), Encarnacion (1B), Jones (CF), Wainwright (SP), Motte (RP)
2. Fielder (1B), Scherzer (SP), Altuve (2B), Goldschmidt (1B), Seager (3B)
3. Kemp (CF), Wright (3B), Ellsbury (CF), C. Santana (C), Phillips (2B), Haren (SP)
4. Bautista (RF), Beltre (3B), Jackson (CF), Sabathia (SP), Walker (2B), Hosmer (1B)
5. Craig (RF), Montero (C), Weaver (SP), Zobrist (2B), Machado (3B), Hill (2B)
6. Kershaw (SP), kinsler (2B), Andrus (SS), Bourn (CF), Teixeria (1B), Myers (OF)
7. My Team
8. Tulowitzki (SS), Hernandez (SP), Gonzalez (SS), Jennings (LF), Aramis Ramirez (3B), Pence (RF)

Total teams with a C: 2
Total teams with a 1B: 4 (one team has 2)
Total teams with a 2B: 5 (one team has 2)
Total teams with a SS: 1
Total teams with a 3B: 5
