Dan Szymborski @DSzymborski T-Minus 26 hours until we found out if this year's HoF voting results are horrifically bad or merely just terrible and embarrassing.
The thing that cracks me up, is guys like Tom Verducci won't vote for suspected steroid users, but dismiss greenies, cutting baseballs as ok. They say roids was cheating. Ummmm, talking greenies isn't? If you factor in doctoring baseballs, Gaylord Perry, Whitey Ford, Don Sutton wouldn't be in. There is no evidence, roids helps you more then greenies. The players themselves, fought harder against greenie testing, then roid testing. They even say themselves, they expect greenies to have a bigger impact on no longer helping them. Anyone who says roids ruined the game, but greenies didn't matter, is just so lost.

It's this kind of thinking, that i just don't care who gets in. It's just so much hypocrisy. They should have instituted this thinking the 1st year of balloting. Ruth wouldn't be in. Mac has andro in his locker, and gets ripped. Willie Mays openly kept red juice in his locker, a liquid form of greenies. No reporter ever said a word. Now we have the moral police. It makes a person hate anything to do with the HOF.

On a side note, this tread has really demonstrated to me just how strongly people feel about the Baseball Hall of Fame. Even those who believe the HOF "is a joke" are very passionate about it. Which as a baseball fan I believe is a good thing...
I agree kaiser. It is the only sport that I care about the HOF for. I don't even know how the other sports HOF work or who is in or isn't in because they just don't seem to matter.
