You gotta get with the times. It's a big time event, WBC qualifying. I anticipate New Zealand and Thailand will be just as entertaining.

What are you trying to say there weirsy?

New Zealand sucks at baseball. :-D

They may have been able to beat Thailand (after getting mercied by Taiwan), but we shall see how they handle that daunting Philippines team.

Its odd to hear about Thailand competing in the sport of Baseball. I grew up here in Bangkok in the early 80's and played T-ball in a relatively large league where it was comprised of entirely all Americans and no Thais. I have never even seen a baseball field here except for the American school where I played growing up. Then I saw Johnny Damon playing for them, how the hell did that happen? What makes it an International competition if foreign countries have non natives playing for their national team?

It was funny however seeing Bob Wickman's and Sidney Ponson's love child pitching for Thailand against the Philippines.

The future of New Zealand baseball is on the line in the final whenever it stops raining in Taiwan. Maybe they'll prevent the mercy this time.

New Zealand did the job...they prevented the mercy as Taiwan won 9-0 to advance to the WBC. ;-)

Whats great about these games is McCarver and Buck aren't announcing them. And McLemore is a very likable guy.

Did anyone see NZ doing that weird chant/dance? It looked like a Tom Selleck exercise from the movie Mr. Baseball :-D

I had an absolute blast watching the last WBC and am looking forward to this one. Nice to see different teams, albeit with familiar players (for the large part) playing alongside guys we aren't accustomed to seeing them play with. Really, anything so that I don't have to watch the Mets.

The Haka. It's even more awesome when a bunch of crazy jacked guys are doing it on a rugby field before they destroy some people.

Also, Brazil had another huge upset yesterday over Panama. They're into the main round now.
