The Jays continue to go for broke this offseason getting Dickey for D'Arnaud and Snydergaard (other spare parts exchanged). I love the aggressiveness by the jays this offseason. The only team in the East that looks really good is the Rays and they have their own weaknesses. The Red sox are a disaster right now, the Yankees look like they could tumble and the O's aren't as good as they were last year (but improving). If you are going to go for it then this is an excellent couple of seasons to do it. And in the end it cost them several good prospects and taking on Buehrle's and Reyes' potentially ugly contracts but that's just money.

Can d'Arnaud please be the Mets' C for the next 10 years? Snydergaard on the bump with Harvey and Wheeler? Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? Please??

Trading Dickey is the absolute right move by the Mets. Especially if this is the type of return you're going to get. The Jays smell blood in the AL East too. It seems to be a well timed push.

Yeah I think both sides should be very happy with what they receive. I can't believe we gave up both d'Arnaud and Syndergaard, but neither of them would be impact players this season (d'Arnaud more or less = Arencibia for 2012). Syndergaard is a few years away, and young pitching prospects have a high failure rate. It will hurt in the long run if they both turn out to be what we most people expect of them, but it's worth the gamble.

On the positive side: R.A. Dickey! Awesome. Not only the Cy Young winner, but also a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Romero goes from defacto Ace in 2012 to 5th starter in 2013 with Happ looming if he doesn't turn things around. It's nice that he doesn't HAVE to turn things around in order for us to win, but it would definitely help.

Finally making the kind of moves I've wanted them to for years. AA has real guts.

I like the ballsiness of this move, but can't help feeling they paid $30 for a $15 SP.

What happens when his K/9 drops below 6 again? Not so sexy now. :-?

At least the Blue Jays were smart enough to ask for J.Thole in the deal, who seems to have caught most of Dickey's 2012 starts.
