I didnt even consider that Haren could be injured. Its a good hypothesis as to why the deal fell through. I would think the Cubs were salivating at the prospect of losing Marmol and gaining Haren.

I'm guessing his back is okay but the Cubs and Halos didn't want to chance it at that price - though this rationale influencing the Cubs decision is baffling.
