Zobrist or Dickey--see value in both of them as a "5th rounder" but keep going back and forth. Zobrist safer and lets me only worry about drafting one 2B or SS when I see one of either in a value slot--then just slot Zobrist into the other spot.
BUT DIckey could potentially give me a really solid 1-2 spot with Cliff Lee. Also since Dickey has been a MET, his numbers this year were not very far off from his averages with the Mets other than a drastically increased K rate.
Totally confused.

It is a tough question. I think a lot of questions that involve Dickey are going to be hard. I think in the end I go with Zobrist as his floor is higher than I think Dickey's is. I just don't know if I think Dickey can really continue doing this.

I understand the temptation to keep Dickey, as it is really nice to have a solid 1-2 punch with your SP before you even enter the draft.
However, like Maud said, Zobrist has a lot more going for him, and you yourself noted the benefit of keeping him to allow more bargain hunting flexibility in the draft. I agree with Maud's concerns over Dickey's ability to continue the way he was earlier in the season. We saw cracks in the armor later in the season.
I have my reservations about Dickey as well. But if you look at the numbers, since being traded to the NL, they are very good. The Ks this year were abnormal, but everything else is not completely out of the norm. Ws are unpredictable even with elite guys (see Kershaw). Zobrist is a solid round 7-10 pick imo. I am sure someone is going to reach for him earlier because of the SS and 2b elig, but his ceiling is also limited. The safe bet is Zobrist however I would be inclined to go with Dickey as long as he is in the NL and in a pitcher's park. It is not like Zobrist is going to make or break your team.
I'm gonna go against the grain and keep Dickey here. His "floor" still involves a lot of K's at this point, and I don't see his ERA going over 4. Zobrist is nice and all, but he has had some pretty crappy years with respect to power and avg.

Going to agree with you here. It's a bit of a gut feeling, though.
