Konerko isn't even in the equation for me. Yeah, he's a proven commodity, but the floor is going to drop out from under him soon. I would rather keep a guy who can still climb the ladder of potential versus a guy who's going to be climbing down that ladder.

For me, it comes down to Lawrie or Hosmer. Can't go wrong with either of them, so pick them on your position needs. I see you have AGon manning 1B, so I would keep Lawrie.

Pitchers are easy: Moore/Medlen

P.S. Just because you don't keep Konerko, doesn't mean you won't get him back in the draft, right?

Both were average 5th round picks in ESPN drafts last season. Those who picked either one of them that high might disagree with the above statement. I would argue that neither one of them earned that pick.

Konerko was also an average 5th round pick. His stats justified the pick.

I'm not saying Hosmer and Lawrie won't bust out this season. I'm only playing devils advocate here. Everyone seems so ready to write off Paul Konerko because he's 36, and anoint Hosmer and Lawrie as the next "big things." Which is fine. But folks were saying the same things about Konerko, and about Lawrie and Hosmer, before last season too.

All I'm saying is let's not be too quick to discard Konerko. Of the three, he is the only one who was more than worth his price last year.
