This was Year 4 in a keeper league, and I finished 4th... had a very weird year, with a lot of underperforming players. I was top 3 in virtually every offensive and pitching category, but faced a lot of inconsistency throughout the year.
Due to some rule changes in the league, keeper prices are now going up $2, $3, and $4 per players at the $10, 20 and 30 cost levels. And seeing as how I had a lot of expensive guys, I decided to try and rebuild. Made some trades, and now I've got some decisions to make.
This is a 16 team league, with 10 keepers per team.. here's the choices, with the prices after the cost increase -- the ones in bold are ones I'm definitely keeping:
38 Mark Teixeira 37 Ian Kinsler 32 Shane Victorino 31 Adam Jones 30 Prince Fielder 27 Yadier Molina 11 Alcides Escobar 10 Hunter Pence 5 Nick Castellanos 3 Brett Lawrie 3 Wil Myers 3 Starling Marte 3 Manny Machado
24 Felix Hernandez 24 Huston Street 14 Chris Perez 14 Ian Kennedy 5 Shaun Marcum 5 Kyle Lohse 4 Dan Straily 3 Chris Capuano 3 Hisahashi Iwakuma 3 Fernando Rodney

Some ugly costs in there. There are my 10 if you HAVE to keep 10. If not I would drop Marte & Jones and take the cash.
Definitely ugly costs. On top of that, I had a $48 Jered Weaver, a $37 Curtis Granderson and a $35 CC Sabathia as well who I traded for Lawrie, Myers, Marte and Machado.
At 16 teams, though, prices tend to be pretty high in the draft because with 10 keepers per team that's usually 160 of the best players off the table from the get-go.. so a lot of people overpaying. But that's why I'm trying to rebuild with young guys and prospects now. Might be a down year next year, but it might pay off if the players do.
I do not HAVE to keep 10, and $31 for Adam Jones is crazy.. but I think any quality OF in the draft would be in that price range as well. I may hold off on a decision with him until February and see what will be available.
Thanks for the help with the rest though -- my one issue is Fernando Rodney. GREAT year, but I am always hesitant about keeping closers, especially coming off a career year. It's an inconsistent position by its very nature, and the ridiculous year on top of that makes me doubly worried.

I agree with most of what Element has given. Only change I might do is keeping Lohse over Straily or Marte. Kind of depends on where Lohse ends up but the past two years he has been a solid pitcher and at $5 he could end up being a better value than either of those guys who may or may not be worth owning next year.
