16 team league, 8x8 roto, 8 keepers and I'm all sorts of torn about what to do with my last few spots. Basically I'm keeping 5 bats and 3 arms, I just don't know which 3 arms to keep.
Here's what I've got so far:
Bats:
1. Andrew McCutchen 2. Justin Upton 3. Prince Fielder 4. Brett Lawrie 5. Brian McCann
Arms:
6. Josh Johnson 7. Jon Lester 8. Tommy Hanson - Kris Medlan - Ian Kennedy
Medlan, Lester, and Hanson. Having Johnson on my roster this season may make me biased but I find it hard to believe on the Marlins that he will have significant value in Wins and he hasn't regained his control or strikeout dominance he had prior to his injury. Hope this helps.
That is tough. Not one guy I have much confidence in going into next year.
I would probably go JJ and Lester as they have the most upside. I would then probably go Hanson but I don't really like it. Kennedy is intriguing but he didn't have a great year and he pitches in a bad ball park. I don't trust Medlan enough to keep him over the other guys. Seems like it is too fluky of a year for me to buy into it just yet. Keep an ear out about Hanson through the off-season. If there are injury concerns at any point then I would jump to Kennedy.

I would not keep any of those arms unless forced to by league rules. Hanson has been hurt. Lester been a bust and Josh Johnson OK but not that great either. kennedy has been pretty mediocre at best. If you have better bats and can keep them it would be better and you can draft pitchers next season imo. That or try to package a couple of those guys for an upgrade. Maybe Johnson and Lester to some Red Sox fan who still believes in Lester.
These are the guys that I would keep. JJ & Lester have top 20 SP upside. Medlen is a mystery to me, but I am not trusting Kennedy next season and why anyone would even consider Tommy Hanson at this point baffles me.
It's a tough call. I understand peoples hesitation on Medlin but you'd hate to miss out on a guy who might be for real. Considering your other options, I'd take the risk on him personally. The others I'd keep is JJ and Lester. Even when Hanson pitches well, he doesn't seem to go deep in games and he's the one I definitely don't trust. Good luck!
