2013 Keeper Dilemma.

We have a $260 cap, I'm for sure keeping the following:

Trumbo : $12
Saltalamacchia : $2
Jesus Montero : $11
Cespedes : $13
Cano : $39
Revere : $10
Aviles : $5
Machado : $10
De Aza : $10
Rasmus : $3

Morrow : $12
Shields : $18
Iwakuma : $10
Reed : $1
Nathan : $11
Pineda : $11
Hellickson : $11
Darvish : $17

We are allowed to keeper as many players as we want, but we have $260 to fill out a 23 man roster. 5x5 standard stats, and AL-only.

My what ifs are:

Masterson : $8
Lawrie : $22
Aybar : $15

I wonder how Masterson is gonna rebound, and I for sure overpaid for Lawrie based on his potential (I was expecting a 20-20 season). Aybar didn't live up to pre season expectations, but he's been raking lately.

beware of inflation. depending on other teams keepers, lawrie could easily go for 22.

Lawrie for sure. Don't think I'd keep Aviles. I would consider Aybar, but I haven't played AL only in a while so I'm unsure on costs.

Hmm.. Aviles is a pretty decent bench/fill-in player, at a cheap price so I'm gonna hold on to him. Depends where he lands next year. You guys don't think Lawrie is expensive at 22 bucks?

I would also keep Lawrie. After that I would keep your money and see what happens at the draft. I probably would also let Aviles go and probably Iwakuma. These guys are ok but you can find similar players pretty easily and I would want as much money as I could have at auction so why fill your team with a bunch of guys you can replace pretty easily.

Perhaps it's just my inexperience with AL Only leagues, but the price seems steep for Pineda and Iwakuma. I could see keeping Aviles, but Boston has a ton of infielders already (Middlebrooks, Pedroia, Iglesias (SP?), Ciriaco, etc). Aviles is a part timer on his own team next year. I'm sure that you could find a similar player at the end of your draft on the cheap.

EDIT: Oh ,...and Lawrie for sure!
