Interesting, there was a guy in my league who had Longoria, Zimmerman and another top end 3B lol. I guess if you're going after BPA, might as well thin out a position for the rest of the league

I want to comment that I dropped LaRoche early in the year or I would have really destroyed the league, heh. I traded Bucholtz and Youk for Wright pretty early in the year and that really helped. Key FA guys were Ben Revere, Wade Miley and I got Frieri, Cook and a couple other solid but not long term closers to fill the gaps.
I took 3rd in one cafe league where I led most of the year and then just fell off late. The 1st place team got a couple of cheap guys who had massive years that led him to the win, Edwin Encarnacion and Adam LaRoche being the most key names. My cafe keeper league was a disaster, too many injuries and too many under performers. One other interesting thing is in none of the leagues did the guy with Trout end up winning, I think it is probably because I play in deeper leagues where one guy doesn't win it for you as much as in shallow leagues.

In my 12 team mixed league I had Fielder/Adrian Gonzalez/Edwin/Headley. We play with a CI spot so I could fit them all in my lineup, but I only planned on one of Edwin/Headley panning out so I ended up trading the latter in a package for Desmond Jennings which didn't really work out. I love scooping up all the big boppers on the corners that everybody thinks are so deep in talent. My philosophy is to let em have all the middle infielders they want in the first few rounds. Taking advantage of misperceived scarcity /depth is very important.
I won the Cafe Noobie league with quite a bit of draft luck. No bench, 5x5, 16 teams. Picked 4th.
1. (4) José Bautista 2. (29) Matt Holliday 3. (36) Josh Hamilton 4. (61) Brandon Phillips 5. (68) Mat Latos 6. (93) Jimmy Rollins 7. (100) Yu Darvish 8. (125) Andre Ethier 9. (132) Tommy Hanson 10. (157) Mike Moustakas 11. (164) Heath Bell 12. (189) Huston Street 13. (196) Edwin Encarnación 14. (221) José Altuve 15. (228) Gavin Floyd 16. (253) Brett Myers 17. (260) Dayan Viciedo 18. (285) Lorenzo Cain 19. (292) Jonathan Lucroy 20. (317) Henderson Álvarez 21. (324) A.J. Pierzynski 22. (349) Sergio Romo 23. (356) Nyjer Morgan
Thank goodness for super seasons from Hamilton, EE, and AJP in the 21st round there. Due to obvious pitching woes, sent away guys like Hamilton, Moustakas, Myers, and Darvish for Kershaw, Price, and Pierre. Picking up LaRoche, Revere, and Burnett off the wire helped a lot too.
