Haven't been around in awhile. Injuries massacred my fantasy team and so I've been in 'next year' mode for a couple months. Really excited to see how the last 3 games play out in terms of pennant races though. It's conceivable we could have two 1-game playoffs to determine division winners (Baltimore vs. New York and Oakland vs. Texas) and the losers would then move onto the wildcard play-in game. Would be crazy stuff.
Hopefully the Yankees just win the East outright and the craziness happens elsewhere though.
Question: If there is a one-game playoff to determine division winner, who gets homefield? Yankees and Orioles have a 9-9 record against each other this year. Is it a coin flip?
1. The Orioles and A's are going to be playoff bound, two teams that people in the prediction thread were picking to lose 100 games. 2. Washington and Cincy have the best records in baseball. 3. The Red Sox are arguably the worst team in the AL. 4. Dickey has the best shot to win NL Cy Young, I don't think you could find anybody including Dickey himself who could have predicted he'd even be in the conversation. 5. We might see the 1st Triple Crown winner in almost 50 years 6. A rookie (that nobody picked to win even ROY in the predictions thread) should win MVP.
Last season had a wild finish, but it's going to be hard to ever top how wild this entire season has been.
I am hoping the Yankees are O's are tied for the division lead after 162. Forcing them to play two one game playoffs. Preferably, the Red Sox would also get swept improving the draft pick- they will not be worse than the Twins, but they could jump the Marlins and the Indians.

Yes, crazy. But at least closers were as crazy as we expected. Jim Johnson and Fernando Rodney... what?!
*edit - and don't forget Chris Perez! The guy I thought might be first to lose his job!

As you suggested, the first tiebreak is H2H, which is tied. The 2nd breaker is division record, and the Orioles are winning that, so the game would be in Baltimore.

To be fair they started Zach Stewart against the O's yesterday.

I mean, they suck, but they could at least play the couple decent players they have. Bobby V said he sat Ellsbury, because there was a lefty on the mound. That's a complete joke.
