KEEPER DILEMMA: pls help me pick my final 2 keepers!

LEAGUE FORMAT: 14 team yahoo ROTO keeper, we keep 5 at the cost of the round they were drafted in.

I have three keepers already set in stone - round values in brackets:

Trout (17)
Harper (16)
Altuve (18)

And now I must choose 2 from the following players:

Wainwright (10)
Cueto (11)
Minor (24)
AJ Griffin (24)
Lance Lynn (24)

Which two players would you keep from that list and why? Do I go with a pair of young 24th rounders, or play it safe with Wainwright and Cueto? Both of those "safe" guys have tailed off pretty badly to finish the season. Minor on the other hand has been on fire. Thoughts?

I'm not that familiar with roto snake drafts (I do auctions) but where would Wainwright go in a draft (and a draft with Trout and Harper not being picked until the 17th round)? Lance Lynn looks really good there, but even if Waino and Cueto save just 2 or more rounds, I would go with them. Do you have any other hitters to keep?


Also, what do you project Altuve to do next year? I'm debating keeping him too

I would take Wainwright and Cueto. Too much talent here and they both will go earlier than what you can keep them for. As much as I like Altuve, I think I would probably keep one of the other guys instead of him. Lynn would be the guy but I have to wonder what will happen to him. The Cardinals have a lot of SP (depending on what happens with Lohse) so if they decide Shelby Miller needs to start, then Lynn might be the odd guy out. Just something to watch but I would keep him over Altuve if he has a spot. If not him then I would go with Minor even though he has some question marks.

Cardinals rotation will be Carpenter, Wainwright, Garcia, Westbrook, Lynn. Lohse will not be signed. Kelly will be in the pen and Miller will be first or second in line for a spot after an inevitable injury.

I'd bump up Wain & Cueto ahead of Altuve then have a much tougher time deciding. If Altuve is in stone then I guess thats your 5

I might look to keep one of Wainwright/Cueto and one of the later round pitchers to keep everything balanced.

I agree that Altuve is a solid keeper/player but Wainwright and Cueto will both be top 75 players maybe top 100 if someone doesn't quite believe in Cueto. That is pretty good value for picks 140/154. I would rather go into the draft with two top 30 SP and then look to draft Altuve or another 2B. In a 14 team league, SP gets thinned out enough that these guys should be valued much more than a solid 2B.

I Would diff keep Griffin esp at that round..i may be biased since im a cards fan but wainwright has looked alot better in the 2nd half and i think u should keep him

I hate to keep pitchers especially with keeping just 5. But out of your options, I'd go with Cueto and Griffin, maybe drop Altuve and go with Wainwright.
