I am in a 14 team Dynasty League(all players can be kept) where closers are a premium. No one wants to let go of a closer and if they do it's at a high price. The best way to catch a closer is before he gets the 9th inning job. With that said, I want to ask, who are the 2012 relievers who you think have had performances worthy of a possible 2013 or beyond closer nod?

-A long shot sleeper is Brayan Villarreal. I'm doubting Valverde will last all through next year. Benoit is the obvious choice but he has had issues at times also. -Heath Bell is also a forgotten guy who could be cheap in your league. I'm betting he gets another shot at fullfilling his big contract. -Has Matt Capps been forgotten in your league? He's probably a long shot. He's not well liked in MIN. -James Russell could also be a good one if Marmol is bad again.

He was my first thought as well. If Rodney gets injured or regresses McGee would most likely get the nod.
A few other setup guys that popped into my head: Kelvin Herrera, Pedro Strop, Vinnie Pestano, Benoit,
Pestano, Grilli and O'Flaherty are two guys that could get closer jobs with low budget teams if traded or their team's respective closers move on. Always look to talent before pecking order when looking far ahead. The cream usually rises to the top at some point. Willhelmson would be a prime example of this.

This guy is pretty good. I've seen him pitch a few times and he can be overpowering. I'd jump on him on any deep league in which he is available.

Since you count holds, I'm going to imagine that most would be closers are already rostered as valuable hold guys. He's not in the majors yet, but keep an eye on Bruce Rondon (Det). If he corrects his BB:9 he could have a chance to at least pick up some holds in 2013.
