Looking at my 5 keepers, WHIR!

Postby BravesGuy » Tue Sep 25, 2012 9:08 am

Well, I won my league championship this year! Not sure how I pulled it off with my below average pitching, but it's good to be lucky!

I'm taking an early look at my keepers for next year. We keep 5 each year and when a player is kept you lose a draft pick in the draft next year.
Braun is a no brainer for me. Hart, Adam Dunn, Willingham, and Allen Craig all seem like great value picks. None of my pitchers seem worthy of keeping except maybe Cain (Round 3 seems too much?) or Matt Harrison.

Besides Braun, what other 4 players do you think I should keep?

12 Team Keeper, Head 2 Head 6x6
Stats: R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS
W, S, K, ERA, WHIP, BAA

C Yadier Molina Round 16
1B Adam Dunn Round 22
2B Aaron Hill Round 22
SS Elvis Andrus Round 4
3B ARod Round 5
OF Ryan Braun Round 1 ;-D
OF G/Mike Stanton Round 5
OF S-Choo Round 11
Util BJ Upton Round 7
Util Corey Hart (1B, OF) Round 22
BN Josh Willingham OF Round 17
BN Allen Craig (1B, OF) Round 22

SP:
Matt Cain Round 3
Matt Harrison Round 22
Roy Halladay Round 1
Jaime Garcia Round 10 :-P
Shaun Marcum Round 13
Ryan Vogelsong Round 22
Tommy Hanson Round 6 :-P

RP:
Joe Nathan Round 22
John Axford Round 22
Addison Reed Round 22

Leave a link and I'll help you out! Thanks! :-D

I agree with Element, this is an easy call and some really nice value there.

Thanks for the input guys. I've pretty much got it drilled down to 6 players and need to keep 5.

(OF) Ryan Braun Round 1
(OF) G/Mike Stanton Round 5
(OF) Josh Willingham OF Round 17
(1B,OF) Corey Hart Round 22
(1B,OF) Allen Craig Round 22
(1B,OF) Adam Dunn Round 22

My keepers arent due untill Feb/March so I'll take another look at this in a few months.
Thanks again!

Want to compare the two this season in the 6 categories? I would say the last two seasons, but that isn't fair to Dunn, suffice it to say, Hart was infinitely more valuable than Dunn in 2011, so track record is actually on Hart's side.

2012:

Dunn- 41 HR, 94 RBI, 85 Runs, 2 SB, .209 AVG, .821 OPS
Hart- 28 HR, 79 RBI, 89 Runs, 5 SB, .275 AVG, .847 OPS

So Dunn wins by 13 HR and 15 RBI, but you have to give up 4 Runs, 3 SB, .65 AVG and .26 OPS to get it. I hardly think this is worth it, and Dunn is basically performing at max value this season with all the HR. Sorry, but I think Hart is the easy choice.
