Closers: Clippard and Frieri

Postby nickels2012 » Sat Sep 22, 2012 12:46 pm

Championship game not a good situation.

8 moves left do i blow them on RP?

Clippard is going to share with Storen and Frier with Downs and Jespen.

Should I drop Frieri and add Kenley Jensen (my former closer)? Is he going to come back to closing?

Drop Clippard for Storen?

Flip a coin really. If I had to guess, Storen would get the next couple of save chances.

Jansen looked good last night against Cincy. League hasn't done anything to give the job back though. That situation is a complete toss up as well. I could see Jansen getting chances back soon, but he wouldn't get a chance until Sunday at the earliest since he has thrown in each of the past 2 days.

I think I stick with Clippard. He has been pretty solid all year outside of a few games and I don't see them making that move with only a week left. Maybe I move Frieri for Jansen as League is not all that good and the Angels have been annoyingly doing the closer by committee crap.

Hope you stuck with Frieri. Three saves the last seven games, the first of those three coming the day of your post.
