teixiera worth keeping in yahoo standard?

Postby mayor quimby » Thu Sep 20, 2012 11:52 pm

Am I crazy to waste a roster spot on teixiera who is slated to return Sept. 27 in a league that ends Oct 3? Its looking like im definitely making the championship.

I need someone to set me straight.

I want hot, healthy players at the end; not someone who: maybe gets some work in, doesn't finish the game, might not play b2b days, etc. In a non keeper, he's gone

Cut him if it is non-keeper.

No need to hang onto Teixiera. If it's a keeper league I'd even consider not keeping him next season. In mixed leagues he's just not that good anymore. More name value.

I would keep him. I see the Yankees giving him playing time to get him sometime before the playoffs. While he isn't a keeper he probably has more power than anyone you are likely to find off the WW. It is going to be a coin flip no matter what and I like Tex still being at least a little useful.

They hope to have him back for the Redsox series (which starts Monday - 10/1)

I see this was posted on 9-20, and hopefully you made a move already. You're talking about getting 0-8 AB's out of him from this point forward. :-t
