I am in the second week of the playoffs, and want to pickup a good streaming matchup. Who is worth an add for Tuesday?
Homer Bailey @ Cubs (the Cubs are actually batting 300 against him this year) Andy Pettite @ Blue Jays (although he will be on a pitch count, they are hitting 276 against him this year)
Bailey. Pettitte is expected to throw about 70 pitches, putting him at 4-5 innings. Both teams have weaker lineups, Bailey might be the safer bet. Though if you are looking to use each SP for 2 starts this week, Pettitte gets Oakland later this week, Bailey gets the Dodgers.
I'm actually going back and forth between these two same pitchers. Pettite would be the easy pick for me if he didn't have a pitch limit on Tuesday. He may only get 5 innings of work and not even figure in the decision. Bailey has been pitching well of late but two of his starts were against Houston and the other Pittsburgh. Neither of those teams are offensive juggernauts....but neither are the Cubs lol. His .300 BAA at Wrigley has me a little concerned, though, and the Cubs have been on an offensive tear. Although most of his success this season has been on the road and he is 2-0 vs. the Cubs.
Right now I'm leaning towards Pettite just because Bailey's 2nd start is at home and he hasn't performed well there.
I wouldn't say he doesn't have any chance of getting the win. He could easily pitch 5 innings tomorrow night and he's being opposed by Romero who is not pitching well at all.
I went Pettitte. Even though Bailey has performed well, I don't really trust him against the Cubs (even though they are the Cubs). Rizzo is on a tear and many of them hit Bailey very well.

I went this route too. It might come back to bite me in the ass but I just didn't like Bailey's track record at Wrigley and he doesn't pitch well at home.
