Have Marte ($4) that I need to make a decision on. I have to activate him or release him. If I activate him, I have to release Choo ($23) or Pence ($28). Marte may have a place on my team next year but I don't see Choo or Pence being there. I'm leading the league right now by 9 points and could use the regular playing time that Choo and Pence provide vs. Marte's occasional start.
Current OF/DH are Pence ($28), Choo ($23), Willingham ($1), McCutchen ($9), C. Gomez ($1), Jennings ($13). One of these guys would have to go.Willingham and Cutch are locks to stay. Hard to pass on Gomez for $1. Jennings is certinly underperforming, but has great potential.
In your situation ... you need to play for 2012. Drop Marte. Who's to say that he even begins the season with the Buccos next season? If you want him back in the draft I doubt that he'd cost too much. If he does, there is always someone else. It's not like Marte is the next Trout or something.

yeah i'll take gomez's 30 SB and 15 HR for a buck (think Carl Crawford minus the money spent on name)....I like Marte as well but you can safely cut him and get him back for a buck in next year's draft he should remain under five.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!
