Use waiver priority #2 on Teixeira??

My season was long over and I've been rebuilding for next season. I have 2nd priority on a waiver claim and I noticed just now that Teixeira has been dropped. Is it worth using 2nd priority on Teixeira or wait for someone else to be dropped during the playoffs?

I only get to keep 3 bats and here are my keepers for next season:

Albert Pujols, Justin Upton, Jay Bruce

Would Tex be any better than these three or should I claim him and trade him for a quality pitcher before next year's draft. I get to keep 2 arms and Dan Haren and Chris Carpenter are my only two options
