Pence Profar if theres a trade or Kinsler moves to CF Butler Hosmer if Profar has no place to play I'd certainly error on the side of youth instead of A Rod or Ortiz
What they should do is move Beltre to DH, slide Andrus over. Pence is solid OF but hurt his value on the trade. You can easily get Pence's production in the draft (Willingham, Rasmus, Luke Scott etc types are plentiful)
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!

You have obviously not seen Beltre play 3B. He is the best defensive 3B option in the league defensively, IMO. You don't mess with that. I think that a more likely scenario would be the Rangers letting Hamilton walk & shifting Andrus/Profar to CF/LF. Kinsler to the OF/DH or 1B makes some sense too.
Not thilled with either Hosmer or Profar. Hosmer has been a major disappointment (and at 1b too) and Profar is only 19. Not worth the risk on either. Trade Arod once he gets hot next year. Pence in SF is not great but he too should be get better and you can deal him when he gets hot as well in the worst case.

And Hosmer isn't a top 25 1b. Profar is rolling the dice with a complete unknown. David Ortiz is OK but way too old at this point and may not even qualify in many leagues at 1b next season. ARod looks like the best choice among that lot imo esp. if you can deal him. No one is giving you squat for Profar or Hosmer. You can always play a hunch and hope that the rookie is the real thing\the sophomore bounces back, but more often than not you end up losing that bet as for every Longoria and Trout there are 100 more Bourjous' and Gardners and Phil Hughes.
but that's assuming the 19 year old profar not only makes the team next season, but is a starter, too. I NEVER count on a 19 year old. for every MIke Trout there are 50 other stud prospects that tear it up in the minors that take the normal development time. I could be wrong about profar but history, good judgement, and common sense says i'm not. With that being said the list of potential keepers to choose from is far from star-studded. if you're gonna pick a guy who tears up the minors why not select myers over profar? he's a little older with more experience and there's less blocking his path to the majors than profar. Out of all those scenarios listed the only way for profar to start is if texas lets hamilton walk. And there's no guarantee that Kinsler can handle the physical rigors of CF; he's been pretty injury-prone in the past. Just offering a different perspective
