Keeper help, who would you keep?

Postby immortalcamel » Mon Sep 03, 2012 12:20 pm

I have a bit of a problem. I'm set on 3 of my 4 keepers(D Price, C Sale & Bumgarner). It is a league where having top pitching options is a premium. I will be able to pick up some decent bats in the draft next year. So, here are my options I am thinking about.
A HR is worth 12 points in this league.

B Butler 1B KC
J Heyward RF ATL
M Machado SS Bal
P Alvarez 3B Pit
B Anderson P Oak
M Harvey P NYM

There are also other random players that are injured I could pick up off the waiver wire like Michael Pineda of the Yanks. Any advice would be appreciated.

Brett Anderson looks great so far, and I really like him for next season. I'd go with him.

None of these really jump out as a 4th round type keeper; if the SP is that biased maybe Anderson secures the 4th spot but keeping all SP would be an unusual way to go. Any offseason trading where you could move 1 of the 3 SP already mentioned for a bat then Anderson would have more appeal

I agree that if you want to lean toward SP, Anderson is the pick. However, if you want one bat in there, I go with Heyward.

I am in a similar situation, I can either keep Bum for a 7th round pick, or Anderson for a 23rd round pick. I am starting to think that I may keep Anderson!! If I were you, I'd keep him.

Help?

heyward is a bum. if pitching is really that important i agree with anderson. but i also agree with not keeping all pitchers. i would take butler as the top batter in that list. check out his numbers. they are really good all around. homers have been rising each year. hes only 26. and his numbers are ridiculously consistent. look at where he ranks among first baseman this year. of course my rankings would be different if our scoring system is different but i would look into it.
