Currently sitting in 2nd placa, and looking to shore up my roster for the playoffs. Should I move Xander Bogaerts for Ryan Howard? I love Bogaerts, but I think Howard could provide a nice power boost. Also, are there any other areas you see that I need to address?
Really depends what categories could propel you to first place. Howard will give you some power and RBIs, but he will hurt your average. He strikes out a ton! Personally, watching Howard every night as a Phillies fan, I think Howard is overrated and a mediocre hitter at best.
That said, I don't know a thing about Bogarts or your keeper rules (dynasty league?), so really hard to say. If you're looking to win now and you need power, probably worth making the move. However, as I look at your team, and given the QS category on top of ERA, WHIP, wins, and Ks for SPs, I could see you pushing for another SP since Strasburg won't complete the year instead. Really depends where you need help.
I'm not sure. Howard isn't doing all that much this season (and may never be that player he once was) + your lineup is already adequately full. If you're really high on Bog's (I admit I like him too), you might just be better off keeping that future piece.
You have Morse who can play 1b and Rochy will hit about the same in BA (maybe a few pts higher with similar BA/RBI the rest of the way) there is no reason.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!
