CBS wrote: The Los Angeles Dodgers have been awarded the waiver claim on Boston Red Sox first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, Bill Shaikin of The Los Angeles Times reported Friday. The report has been confirmed by CBSSports.com insider Jon Heyman. The Dodgers’ claim of Gonzalez would be the first step in a potential trade sending the star first baseman to Los Angeles. The Times mentioned a potential deal that would also involve Josh Beckett and Carl Crawford heading to Los Angeles for multiple top prospects. Even with the first step completed, the deal is far from complete. The Dodgers would be taking on $253 million in salary, an absurd sum even considering the clear willingness of new ownership to spend, all while giving up loads of future value. The Red Sox have the rights, if a trade is not completed within the next 48-72 hours, to either pull Gonzalez back or allow him (and his contract) to go to the Dodgers.
There's no way this ever happens, because there always seems to be just too many hangups, but I, for one, would love to see such big names head across the country, change leagues, and potentially sway the playoff picture when we're just a few days from September. You just know Beckett would pitch like his stud self in LA and not the squid he's looked like in Beantown all season. Crawford would look like his Tampa self, and Gonzo would party like it's 2011.
This has been an amazing month+ for fantasy baseball for me. My team started off so bad and I was in 12/12 about a month ago. I made some moves and the last 4 weeks I've won 8-4 9-3 10-3 10-3 and winning 9-2 and find myself in 8th right behind the guys in front of me. 1 week left it's gonna be crazy!

IF this crazy blockbuster really does happen, what are thoughts of Beckett pitching in LA? He's on some WW's, and could get a nice boost pitching in that park, in that league.

We had to get the Angels going somehow!

SV Ops for BOS and LAA both tonight, but neither Aceves nor Frieri are used cause they were busy sucking last night. Related, is A. Bailey picked up a 1.1 IP Save tonight for Boston. Thoughts on him supplanting Aceves in closing games in Beantown?
