Sure, that's fair. I'm assuming both Team A and Team B think they're improving their teams in either the short or the long run. That's what "fair" means.
If you're asking if you should veto, still no. I'm assuming you think Team A gave up "too much" or whatever. That first trade makes sense if you're out of it this year and think Jones is a sell high candidate. The second trade makes sense if you want to consolidate talent and think Adrian Gonzalez has started to actually decline as opposed to having an off year.
I don't think either deal is ridiculous. Obviously, they are both player dumps on the part of Team A, but if that is what he chooses to do, that's the way it goes, unless your keeper league has something in the rules to prevent this kind of "playing for next year."
Well there seems to be an issue with the other teams in playoff contention that Team B is recieving too much and putting them at a disadvantage for this year. I was actually Team B in the Cano trade.
The Cano one is a reach but OK as it is basically AGone and Cain for Cano.
The one for Posey is ludicrous imo. Adam Jones, Aram and Kuroda+ for Posey...come on. When did Posey become Johnny Bench and Yogi Berra rolled into one?
we have a max four keepers for next year. he is roster dumping to get keepers for next year and hooking up playoff contenders, which is peeing off other playoff contenders this close to the post season. We always had a trade deadline on July 31, however this year the system never put it in place so it is being exploited. I guess the pposey trade is more even than i thought. most raters have jones and posey rated similiarly, so i felt four additional player was a little excessive
and we did set a rule three years ago that you just can't player dump. it has to be fair within the context of a season in order to avoid screwing ppl who are in playoff contention

Define "fair within the context of the season."
Without specific rules and deadlines in place, this will happen ever single time.
We have trades like these all the time in our league. In a sense they indicate you have owners who are invested and working hard to improve their teams. It's not easy to trade off a stud keeper like Cano, but flags fly forever. Some of the contending owners who whined about these trades probably had studs they deemed untouchable and therefore couldn't benefit from the dump deals. That was THEIR choice, but they can't have it both ways. EITHER you squash trading with too many 'rules' that are tough or impossible to define completely OR you build a vibrant long lasting keeper league which permits owners to improve THEIR teams THEIR way.
