I said IF he can gut it out against the tough teams like he showed he could last season, and continue to dominate against the weaker offenses, THEN he'll easily post ace like numbers. Now, I know you could say that about any pitcher, so it's not exactly enlightening (for lack of a better word--there is a better word but it escapes me). But the point I was trying to make is that there is evidence that suggests he has the ability to do just that. I'm not saying it's a certainly, but I definitely like his chances.
I think we feel the same way long term but dominating 3 times against weak teams doesn't even mean that he will dominate against weak teams all season. He has a history of iffy control in the minors and there are going to be games where he's missing. Again I liken this to Matt Moore (similar K upside and control issues) who started last season with 3 terrible games and people were talking about cutting him. Harvey is going to have those games but he started out amazing so people will be more forgiving. Another concern would be fatigue as the season goes on. He hasn't pitched a full season yet.
I feel like I'm a hater in this thread but I'm absolutely nuts about Harvey. I made a bold move to get him last year and so far it's working for both teams.
