Agree. While Billy Hamilton is going to be an impact roto player, he is going to be one dimensional. Machado has the ability to be a potential 1st round pick some day. Not to mention that Hamilton could get pushed off of the position. Cozart plays a very good SS & the Reds just re-upped Phillips. It would not surprise me to see Hamilton in CF.

This. There's a good chance Hamilton ends up in the OF, and he simply does not have the contact ability, plate discipline, or power to be a fantasy superstar. Juan Pierre with even more steals is an impact player, but Machado could be a top 20 player. Machado's age makes me not care about his stats so much; he has a lot of projection left.

Machado has the higher ceiling and projects to be a lot more well-rounded, but it depends on the rest of your team. If your other keepers are a lot more power than speed, and this is Roto not H2H, I would take Hamilton all day.

Breaking the single season MiLB SB record is certainly a large feet and Hamilton should get props for that. But before he goes crazy on the MLB basepaths, he first needs to be exposed to MLB pitching and learn how to get on base. His SB potential is nothing unless he can hit and draw walks. And that has not been proven at this point in time.

Machado is having a nice debut and has a higher, 4 or 5 tool ceiling. I would go with Machado because of this.
