Tulo ($50) or Castro ($26) in 2013?

Postby CMan0928 » Wed Aug 22, 2012 4:08 pm

Like the headline says, next season 12-team keeper league. My Castro/Machado for his Tulo? Not planning on tagging Machado as a keeper next season anyways. Is Tulo worth the $24 over Castro? We know he has trouble staying healthy. My gut tells me to hold off as $50 (it would actually be $52 when you factor in that we have to pay a $2 "trade-kicker" for players we keep for the following season that we acquired via a trade) is way too much and we haven't seen the best yet of Starlin Castro. But when Tulo is healthy he's an absolute weapon at a relatively shallow position. Feedback?

Assuming a $260 or $300 league, I would pass on both as keepers. You can buy Tulo cheaper (so the other guy likely does not keep him anyway) and Castro is at or above value and why pay $26 for a guy hitting 275/12/62? There is nothing special in that. Spend the money elsewhere imo.

I certainly wouldn't want Tulo at that price. Like others said, Q is do you keep Castro @ $26 with your settings
