Halladay doesn't have the wins, but that really shouldn't be used against him when he played in Toronto for so long. career 3.26 ERA and 1.16 WHIP, with 2029 K to date
if David Ortiz gets in, what about someone like Paul Konerko? Ortiz. 1831 G - 6535 AB - .285/.380/.547/.927/ 401 HR/ 1324 RBI Konerko - 2104 G - 7582 AB - .283/.360/.501/.860/ 417 HR/ 1319 RBI
Lance Berkman? 1802 G - 6229 AB - .296/.409/.545/.953/ 360 HR/ 1200 RBI

Halladay, Sabathia, Mauer, Cano, Verlander need some more years
Ortiz, ARod, Melky (jk) have that whole steroid stuff, and might not ever get in
Thome is like Mcgriff to me. I think he eventually gets in but not right away
I think Mariano (I think he qualifies - he hasn't retired yet) will be 1st ballot too. No small feat as a closer.
61* 70**73**762*** MVP****AL07,AL05,NL04,ALNL03,ALNL02,NL01,ALNL00,AL99,ALNL98,ALNL96 RIP Cammi Cmon Bud NOW is the time to sack up and force feed an Olympic style drug testing program down Fehr's fat throat and save OUR game from these blatant cheaters!
Todd Helton and Big Daddy Vladdy are two guys that would certainly get my vote, though there's a good chance neither will see Cooperstown.
The Hall of Fame has become a joke. stats like 3,000 hits shouldn't mean automatic consideration for the hall of fame. Especially when you played for 20+ years. If Craig Biggio sees Cooperstown and Vladimir Guerrero does not, the HOF will be rendered worthless.
Also, Manny Ramirez hasn't retired yet and he's a shoe in for me.

Pretty good summary although I agree that Mariano goes in the first list and it won't take thome more than a couple of years to make it. Thome is in a completely different tier than guys like McGriff.
I think the elite steroid linked players should still get in because they would have been the best regardless but it's already been discussed a lot on here.
I don't think Ortiz gets in regardless. Vladdy is another borderline case. I think there is going to be a bias against one dimensional sluggers but he could make it.
I'm not even sure Halladay needs more years at this point to get in. He's been basically the Pujols of pitching since 2001, even if he wasn't recognized as that in the States for much of that time. And when you're the best in the game at something for that long, you deserve to be in.
If you want a darkhorse HOF pick, check out Adrian Beltre (over 60 career fWAR now). He's had a fantastic career and it's not even close to being over yet.

It will be rendered worthless officially when Bonds doesn't get in next season (and Clemens too...provided he doesn't come back this season in an attempt to delay his eligibility).
