I suppose it's too much to ask for to get Melky and Colon to say why they used and what performance enhancements they noticed, if any? Is it used just to prevent injury? If so, I don't see the big deal then, players use drugs all the time to mask pain, why not drugs to prevent the injury and pain in the first place? If it doesn't even do that, are synthetic drugs the new titanium necklace? Are they just a hoax that athletes have bought into? Or would the most likely scenario be that everyone is using and you can't really see the effects of synthetics since everyone's on an equal playing field.

The hall of fame might as well just close their doors and announce they aren't taking any more inductees.

You'd think a player who was caught, especially a minor leaguer who was caught and didn't make it because of it, would be a whistle blower if everyone was using though. Somebody, most likely a disgruntled player, would have blown the lid wide open by now

He blew the lid open to start talking about it, and how much of an issue it was 10 years before he wrote that book. I'm surprised nobody else has taken the next step to say, this still happens, I got caught and it's not fair.
