Trade on the table WHIR

Postby baegames » Sun Aug 19, 2012 5:12 pm

So I need pitching for offense. This is the offer:

I give:
Miguel Cabrera
Alex Cobb
Tommy Milone

I get:
Hiroki Kuroda OR Brett Anderson
James Shields

He also offered me Kevin Youkilis, but I have no interest in Youk as I have Jose Bautista coming off the DL to play 3b soon.

8 team AL only.

My offense:
C Santana
C Wieters
1b Encarnacion
3b Miggy
ci Billy Butler
2b Howie Kendrick
ss Asdrubal Cabrera
mi Plouffe
of Ellsbury
of Granderson
of Nelson Cruz
of BJ Upton
of Crisp
ut Lorenzo Cain

I am winning (by a decent margin but have not locked up) Avg., OBP, SLG, Runs, RBI.
I need help in SB (I just made a few acquisitions to fix this). We do not have HR as a category.

In pitching, I could pick up points in ERA (2 points, but a long way to go), Win Pct. (2 points), Strikeouts (3 points), WHIP (1 or 2 points, but a long way to go), Wins (1 point, 2 points is an outside shot, but the 1 point will be gotten even without this trade). I am now 4 points off the lead.

Does this trade help me or is it way too much to give up? If I look for another player back, I should try to get a 2b, does everyone agree? What level of 2b should I expect?

You are giving up too much imo. You should be getting more for the best hitter in baseball and the best player in fantasy.

help with mine please:

I feel like you are giving up a lot but if that's the best pitcher you can get for Cabrera then it really will make sense. Have you tried offering up Bautista instead of MCab for Shields? That seems like a fair deal

You should be getting an ace in return like a Weaver or Verlander for what you are giving up. I would stand pat

C Napoli
1 Butler/Davis/Hosmer/Dunn
2 Young/Utley/Zobrist
3 Moustakas
SS Bonifacio/E Cabrera
OF Grandy/Choo/Reddick/Kubel
SP Anderson/C Lee/Oswalt
Haren/Moore/A Sanchez
RP Soriano/Myers/Johnson/Aceves/Parnell

I only play in mixed leagues, so AL only is different to me. That seems like way too much to give up. You would have to get a top notch 2B in return to even consider this deal.
