Yadier and other moves...[AWHIR]

Postby TruYankeeFan » Sun Aug 19, 2012 7:56 am

So, I have been scrambling since Ruiz and Napoli went on DL and Melky got exposed as a cheater.

If this week ends as it is now... I will still have a 7.5 game lead over 2nd place with two weeks left. So I am really only concerned with the playoffs.

Then one of the other owners panicked and dropped Yadier. He is on waiver til tomorrow and I have the #3 waiver spot...so good chance to get him. I also think I have ridden the Fiers train as far as it can go.

12 team h2h catgegory w/ (r, rbi, tb, obp, netsb x ip, sv, k, era, whip) daily roster changes and 6 waiver moves a week.

C-S Perez
1B-Prince
2B-Altuve
SS-Jeter
3B-T Frazier
OF-CarGo
OF-Cespedes
OF-B Harper
UT-A Craig
BN-ARod, Napoli, Ruiz(DL)

SP-Kershaw, Dempster, Harrison, Zimmermann, Fiers, Maholm, Shields, Buchholz

RP -Chapman, Janssen, Wilhelmson

Clearly I drop Ruiz for Yadier. Assuming I land him I have 3 catchers even after dropping Ruiz. Do I keep Napoli? or is there a better option on the WW?

Also, not feeling completely confident in my pitchers....Fiers looks like maybe the league is catching up. And Dempster is a real concern for me.

WW
Adam Laroche
Alcides Escobar
Dexter Fowler
Ryan Ludwick
Carlos Gomez
Rajai Davis
Eric Young
Erik Aybar

Jon Niese
Kris Medlen
Jeremy Guthrie
Miquell Gonzalez
Bartolo Colon
Hisashu Iwakuma
James McDonald

All thoughts and suggestions welcome.

Drop both but I think you need a 2b/ss on your bench as a backup. If you have daily moves, you need a backup for Monday/Thursday or in case someone gets hurt.

so SS is really the only place I have no backup.

Best available WW who qualify at SS
Alcides Escobar
Marco Scutaro*
Mike Aviles*
Erick Aybar
Trevor Plouffe*
Zack Cozart
Luis Cruz

*qualify at 2b/ss

I would grab Plouffe - he has the most upside of the crew. And, if he falls flat on his face, grab one of the others next week.

ok....Now I just need to hope neither of the guys ahead of me are thinking of grabbing him with their picks.

What about Fiers and Dempster?

Neither has been even decent over the last 2 to 3 starts. Fiers looks like maybe the pro hitters have caught up to him...that or he is hitting a wall. And Dempster just looks like a bad fit for the AL.

Should I stick with them and just hope for good matchups in the playoffs? or should I go with one of the guys on the WW?

I'd grab either Fowler or Raj Davis. Short term upside could help out in the playoffs.

Colon is also a consideration.
