Was offered Jose Bautista and Cliff Lee for Tulowitzki. Hate trading Tulo but seems like I'm getting a lot of value back here. Assuming my keepers for next year would be Cabrera, Kinsler, Sandoval, McCutchen, Bautista, Morse, Felix, Lee.
I can see the argument for keeping Tulo. His productivity at SS is in a class of its own, and that's worth a lot. My main concern is that it seems he's made of glass, and the hammy has given him issues.
That said... How much better is Lee really than Gallardo? Historically it's obviously a no brainer. But Gallardo is pitching for a strong offensive squad in Milwaukee, is younger, strikes out more, and arguably will be a better long-term option. I can see Lee bouncing back from this season, but he's not getting younger and has some serious mileage on his arm over the past few seasons. I like Bautista but would struggle dealing a guy like Tulo for his .250 average and 40 homers. I'll take the SS putting up .290 and 25-30 over that, but that's just me.
End of the day, depends on your thoughts around how much better Lee is than Gallardo and your concern around Tulo's ability to stay healthy.

For next year, give me Tulo (unless you play in a weird league where Bautista will still qualify at 3b).
Agree 100% with this statement. I would lean toward taking the deal because I still like Lee much more than Gallardo as a keeper. If nothing else, you could flip Lee next season for more than Gallardo.

I disagree in the fact that I prefer Gallardo over Lee as a keeper. However I agree with the summary of Bautista /Lee if you're going for it this year or Tulo (and Gallardo) for the long term.
