OK, our trade deadline is this Sunday and I have some serious decisions to make. Here's the download:
- I am in 2nd place, 4 games back of 1st (though having a tough week... still, should remain in 2nd and have a good shot at 1st or 2nd to capture a bye when all is said and done). - I have 6 players on the DL and only 4 slots - 2 of my DL guys are returning -- Hanson returns today (Friday) and Bonifacio returns Sunday - When the other 4 guys return, my current candidates to drop are Machado, Greg Holland, Avila (or Napoli, depending on performance), and one of Fister/Hanson/Bon/Lincecum. - SO, as you can see, my main need is that I really MUST do a 2 OR 3 for 1 trade so that I don't end up needing to drop studs (or high caliber talents).
Here are some options I could conceivably execute. Do any make sense or is there another angle?
1.) Trade my Hanson and Machado for Derek Jeter (Jeter expiring contract, BUT that team is playoff bound... still, he seems open to it)
2.) Trade Machado and Hanson for Alex Gordon ... OR ... trade Machado and Hanson for AJ Burnett ... OR trade Machado and Hanson for Ian Kennedy ... OR trade Machado and Hanson for Pablo Sandoval (I am reasonably confident I could get one of these done, though the owner is not as easy to deal with).
3.) Currently offered a guy Hanson and Machado for Nelson Cruz ... no word yet
4.) I have thrown out offers of Pedroia and Hanson (or) Papi (or) Lincecum for Cano (expiring keeper contract) but no word
What say you fine experts?

Agree with the DL move, but I'm sure you're well aware of that by now.
First off, nice friggin team you got there. I don't know how you could lose even if you didn't set your lineup until week 1 next year. Props on the trading I assume
I like the Pablo deal the best for you then the Gordon deal. The only thing I'd worry about out Gordon is the potential ice cold slump that seems to be due for him.
Personally, I'd like to see you either improve your catcher option by combo-ing Napoli, Hansen and maybe Machado for the likes of a Posey..? Maybe that's not enough, but feel it out. You could always revert to selling Napoli and one of your OF'ers when you know Joey Bats comes back. I feel that is a good possibility.
So it seems those owners are out ... though Hanson and Machado for Jeter remains a possibility.
I am currently trying to get Josh Johnson for my Papi and Motte. He wanted Chapman so I countered with Motte there. Is there any other good match? His (more or less) untouchables are Mauer, Castro, Verlander, Moore, Price and Cueto.
