Which two players for Dickey? As always WHIR

Postby HoneyNutIchiros11 » Thu Aug 16, 2012 12:11 am

So another guy in my league has Melky, so I told him I'll give him a trade where he'll get two guys and can drop Melky and will get better value for dropping him than what the WW has to offer.

Dickey or CarGo are really the only two guys he has that I'd actually want on my team, so I was leaning towards Dickey as I'll be able to bring back Morrow from the DL as well so my SP only gets better in light of Strasburg going on the shelf for the season soon. I've offered Fister and Shields for Dickey and he said no, and also Strasburg and Kuroda (I didn't expect much from that offer), and now I'm not sure which combination of two SP I could offer him... I don't want to move Wainwright and I might be having a deal in the next couple days before the deadline where I'll be sending Weaver away for Trout so I don't want to move him in this deal either, but every other SP is fair game.

I understand him rejecting the Fister/Shields
I am surprised about the Kuroda/Strasburg. I guess everyone is freaking out about that innings limit (although he should still have 20-40 innings in him. That is somewhere between 3-7 games. Which if you are in a head-to-head league will take you into your playoffs.
You can't give him Weaver. And he doesn't want Strasburg and you don't want to give Wainwright. I guess your best offer would be Kuroda/Fister. But honestly I would take Dickey for Kuroda and any of your other guys (Fister/Shields/Lohse)

I agree with above...your best bet without touching one of the guys you listed is Kuroda/Fister. But if he is stubborn you may have to walk away or part with someone you don't want.

Thanks for the help on mine ;-D

I cant see Dickey being as productive for the ROS. AND! I am a Mets fan. Personally, I think a Dickey/Shields swap is fair enough. If he's being stubborn, just walk away and see if another (poor) Dickey start will change his mind.

Thanks for the help so far guys

Could I go for Verlander with the Strasburg/Kuroda offer? I think Dickey isn't happening so I'm hoping Verlander or someone else..

Also, how about Price and Kimbrel, what do you think I'd have to pony up for them?

This sums up my thoughts. I'm shocked that the Strasburg deal didn't cut it though...Maybe better for you anyhow.

Am I being reasonable with sending the Verlander owner a proposal and leaving a message saying he can have any two of Strasburg, Lohse, Shields, Kuroda and Fister for his Verlander??
