Evan Longoria Straight up for Giancarlo Stanton

Postby OBPlover » Wed Aug 15, 2012 6:54 pm

Not too sure what to do on this one.

6X6 (OPS) redraft, H2H.

I like both players. Longoria is in a tougher hitter's park. Lingering leg injury concerns mean no more stolen bases.

I have Chase Headley at 3B. OF replacement is Drew Stubbs.

Thanks!

In a redraft league, it really depends on what categories you need. I think this is a fair trade, although 3B is tougher to replace than OF (although both of your options are good). I would try to get a bit more than Stanton first, only b/c Longoria is still a name brand that often carries weight if you tried to move him for a guy like Kemp or Fielder. Might be stretching it, but you never know.

Otherwise, it depends on your categories. If you need steals, then keeping longoria and using Stubbs can be a good move.

Both players represents risk of reinjury, so that factor cancels out. Personally, I would want Longo over Stanton, but it's pretty close.

I agree. It depends on categories if you are looking at this year. That being said, give me Stanton in general.

Help with mine:

Damn that's close.

I think I might have to give it to Stanton. He's an up and coming elite big bopper. Longo has not proved that he can stay healthy year after year.
