I'm just thinking about how amazing these 2 seasons for each of these players has been, and Trout isnt even done yet (and he didnt have an April). I know that we cant really ask this until a season is completely done... but for a player to miss an entire month of the season and still be the number 1 overall player by August is amazing to me. I dont think Trout will slow down either. A lot of you might say that this question is premature... but even if Trout does hit a rough patch (which I dont think he will do), his overall numbers will still be unbelievable for just 5 months of work.
I like to hear everyone's opinion on these sorts of things.

Id have to Trout is easily more impressive because he hasnt been hurt (twice for Kemp), and because his production has been so unexpected.
I was gonna include my other thread in this one. I just didnt want 2 different topics under one thread.
The way these 2 threads are different is because one of them is about your first overall pick for next year, and the other thread is about which season is impressive, 2011 Matt Kemp or 2012 Mike Trout.
2011 Matt Kemp hit well over .300 and nearly went 40/40 (never got injured...as I am not talking about this years Matt Kemp).
2012 Mike Trout is playing about 80 percent of a season and isn't done yet, but he could very well go on to do something equally, if not MORE impressive.
So.... No these are not the same 2 threads. They involve the same players, but they are 2 different subjects.
Trout by far. No knock on Kemp's ability, it's the whole "Hi, I was a minor leaguer a month ago and oh look I'm leading your league in everything" stuff that's amazing and you don't get to see maybe once in a generation. People thought that player was going to be Harper, or perhaps Strasburg. But for now Trout has the attention of everyone, where last season Kemp didn't even win the MVP.

The answer is 2007 Ryan Braun. At least if you are talking offense and ignoring defense~. I'm always the negative type though, I doubt Trout is a top 5 player next year. Too much of this looks wonky though maybe the speed keeps him in the top 5.
I have to agree with everyone else... Trout and it's not really close. Trout is on nearly a 40-60 pace. That's unreal. And up until a week or two ago, he couldn't legally consume alcohol.
