#1 SEED; DROP AROD? WHIR

Postby JJGBPD » Sun Aug 12, 2012 8:26 am

So I easily have the #1 seed wrapped up and a first round bye (week of Sept. 3-9). ARod isn't expected back until early to mid Sept, which means our playoffs could be about over. Is it too soon to drop him? I really want to grab Kris Medlen and even if ARod comes back, he's a bench bat for me.

If he is a bench bat, he is droppable. Medlen, however, is a six inning pitcher (at most) at this time. One thing I would check if you have the #1 seed locked up is the pitcher matchups expected at playoff time.

Help with mine:

I agree on Medlen, but the playoffs for me will be in 5 weeks and he'll be stretched out by then. Lots of upside with the guy. I'm not sure I can project pitching matchups that far out!!

Not necessarily pitching matchups, but definitely opponents on the team's schedule at the very least.
