Alright so the trade deadline in my leage is in less than 10 days, and I'm looking to make some moves to solidify my chances in the playoffs. I am in 1st place, but I'm not 100% confident in my team going forward. Here's what I was thinking:
Ellsbury for Burnett. Now I know some of you might think this is crazy to do, but I'm looking at production from about mid september-early october, the last couple of weeks of the playoffs. The pirates have a pretty easy schedule, playing the cubs, brewers, astros, mets, and then the reds, which is the only tough team. Burnett has been great this year and he's been great in the past. Ellsbury has been disappointing and idk if he's going to return to form
Betancourt for Morrow. I have 6 (5 and a half if you're not counting bell, but I think he'll have the job come end of the season.
And should I just drop michael young? they're saying now that he's going to be on the bench.
I like both trades if they'll work. Definitely like Ellsbury for Burnett but I don't know if Betancourt will be enough to pull off Morrow, especially if the owner has been holding on this long. I think Michael Young is all but useless at this point, but it would depend on who's available in your league. Another player I'd consider trading is Dickey. Another complete game the other night should be helpful to sell high and bolster your rotation or outfield.
